REINVENT THE CREATIVE BUSINESS WITH US AND RAFFLE HOCKNEY’S SUMO BOOK

Dear friends,

THE ARTS+ is less than two months away and we’re getting more and more excited about five days full of fascinating events around the art and creative industries! The calendar is filling up; here we’d like to present a few highlighted talks and introduce some of the speakers from the programme for Thursday, 12 October. We’ve talked with Christian H. Rother, Managing Partner and Founder of smart-collectors, about art and his participation in THE ARTS+, and with Bart de Witte, Director Digital Health DACH at IBM, about artificial intelligence in the fields of translation and publishing. And you can win something, too: namely, some tremendous – in the truest sense of the word – books by the painter David Hockney, with a total value of 16,000 euros!

Tickets for THE ARTS+ are available here. And, since we get so many requests, on 14 and 15 October, the Book Fair and THE ARTS+ will be open to all visitors – not only trade visitors, but anyone who’s interested can participate. We look forward to seeing you!

Best wishes from sunny Frankfurt,
Holger Volland

LET’S REINVENT THE CREATIVE BUSINESS

Thursday 12 October, is all about “Reinventing the creative business” at THE ARTS+. There’s no big business without creativity. Whether museum, publishing house, media provider or creator – they all can find out how to make the most of their creative assets and what content exploitation really means in this day and age.
THE ARTS+ has invited great speakers for this day’s workshops and sessions. They include: the artist Jeremy Bailey, who launched Lean Artist, a seed accelerator for artists; Juliane Schulz of peacefulfish, a consultancy for financing in the creative industries, who will share tips for start-ups on how to convince investors to believe in their creative visions; Louisa Rice of Amphio, who will get you thinking about your assets and audiences and how to transform the way you engage with them; and Marguerite Joly, who develops New Business Initiatives at Ullstein Publishers and who will provide exclusive insight into the art of innovation. »

RAFFLE: DAVID HOCKNEY’S SUMO BOOK

It was presented at THE ARTS+ last year: “A bigger book”, the spectacular, SUMO-sized David Hockney monograph, published by TASCHEN Verlag and including 450 works by the artist from six decades. But it isn’t just the range of content that’s simply overwhelming – with dimensions of 50 cm × 70 cm and a weight of 35 kilograms, “A bigger book” is – quite literally – a real stand-out on any bookshelf.
We’re raffling off eight copies of David Hockney’s masterpiece, worth 2000 euros each, on Facebook. If you would like to win one, you have to get creative yourself and tell us how you plan to transport this tremendous book home. The deadline for participation is 31. August 2017. »
